I’m Mrs Smith, and I’m delighted to be the class teacher for 1S. Our classroom is an exciting, welcoming space where we learn, explore, and celebrate each other’s achievements. We’re also very lucky to have Mrs Johnston working with us, bringing even more energy and support to our learning journey.

🌱 What We Learn

Year One is all about becoming independent learners who enjoy discovering new ideas and applying what we know.

📚 Reading and Phonics

We use Monster Phonics, a fun and engaging scheme that introduces us to colourful characters who help us learn new sounds. The monsters make reading exciting and memorable, and we love meeting them as we grow into confident readers.

🎉 Celebrating Our Success

We take great pride in our work in Year 1. Whether we’re solving problems, creating artwork, or sharing ideas, we always try our best — and we love collecting Class Dojo points along the way to celebrate our efforts.
