Able Writers Day

Five children from upper KS2 were chosen to attend Able Writers’ Day. The children had an amazing day working with Robin Price, an author of children’s books. They worked collaboratively to create and share awesome pieces of writing and developed new ideas and techniques to use when they are writing in the future.

Music Enrichment Day

On Wednesday 16th October teachers from Bury Music Service delivered a Music Enrichment day’ for our children.

During the day each class had a music workshop. EYFS and KS1 children took part in listening to music and creating their own movements in response to what they heard. EYFS had the theme of ‘Under the sea; Year 1 had ‘Robots’ and Year Two had ‘Aliens’.

KS2 children all had the opportunity to play an instrument they had not experienced before. One class from each year group played Djembes which are a type of African drum. The parallel class learnt how to assemble and play Pbones which are plastic trombones.

We all had a fantastic time and enjoyed seeing each other perform during a whole school assembly at the end of the day.

School Council Visit to the Mayor’s Chambers

On the 17th April the School Council were invited to visit Madam Mayor Cll Black at her Chambers at the Town Hall in Bury. They find this to be a very exciting visit and were able to ask the Mayor a lot of interesting questions. The children were escorted by Mrs Hamilton and Mr Stephens.

We have been attending a Bounce Ball Club. It has been really fun!

On Adopt a Street we go on a lot of streets around the school and any rubbish we see we get it cleared straight away. We have four bags: one is yellow and three green. Plastic items go in the yellow bag and any other rubbish goes in the green bags.
